Bad Part of the City
You lay on your mattress in your closet-sized apartment listening to the sounds of the city no one talks about. Your neighbors are probably getting high again, their little girl left in her crib. Someone's dog barks at every suspicious person that walks by, which happens to be a lot. The train tracks might as well be directly above your building. And you try not to think about the random gunshots throughout the night.
